LEICESTER will be without two of their key riders for Monday’s Midlands derby at Wolverhampton (7.30).

Kyle Newman continues to struggle with a shoulder injury while captain Danny King is ruled out after aggravating an arm injury at Ipswich on Thursday.

In-form Sheffield rider Charles Wright stands in for King with rider replacement operating for Newman.

The Watling JCB Lions sit just three points behind Wolves in the current Premiership standings and a first win on the road would see them move into the league’s top four.

Reserve Todd Kurtz is hoping he can play his part in helping the Lions add to their tally.

He said: “My scores have been a bit below par for Leicester to be honest but I’m confident that can change pretty soon.

“I’ve had a few confidence boosting scores with Sheffield in the Championship lately and I’m hoping that will help when it comes to racing in the top flight.

“We’ve got a good, solid team and while things haven’t always gone to plan on the road, we feel we’re not too far away from getting a positive result somewhere.”

WOLVERHAMPTON: Jacob Thorssell, Ashley Morris, Kyle Howarth, Sam Masters, Rory Schlein, Cameron Heeps, Nathan Greaves.

LEICESTER: Kenneth Bjerre, Kyle Newman R/R, Charles Wright, Krystian Pieszczek, Hans Andersen, James Sarjeant, Todd Kurtz.
