LEICESTER Lion Cubs captain Max James has stepped away from racing with his Championship club Edinburgh.
Max informed the Monarchs of his decision this week after a tough start to the season including a heavy crash at Birmingham earlier this month.
He has chosen to take a step back from the senior level in order to rebuild his confidence, but he has not quit racing altogether and intends to continue in the Development leagues.
Due to pulling out of the Edinburgh team, he will serve a 28-day racing ban although this does not actually mean he will miss any Lion Cubs matches, as they do not resume until May 24. He will also continue with Birmingham in the NDT after the expiry of the ban.
Max has our full support at Leicester, as he has been brave enough to take a decision which is right for him, and we look forward to seeing him with the Lion Cubs next month.
