GILKES INJURY LATEST

LEICESTER are awaiting a further injury update on Dan Gilkes who crashed out of a meeting for his Championship club Oxford at Poole on Wednesday.

The actual fall appeared relatively innocuous but Gilkes suffered damage to his knee and there was a lengthy delay for him to be attended to on track before he was taken to hospital.

Gilkes is booked in for further scans on Friday, the results of which should be known in the early part of next week, and he has withdrawn from Monday’s British Final.

The Watling JCB Lions have taken the precaution of putting a guest on stand-by for next Thursday’s important home clash with King’s Lynn in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership, and we wish Dan all the best and hope he gets good news from the scan.
