LEICESTER Lion Cubs look to get themselves back to winning ways when they host the Steelers at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park on Sunday (3pm).
A bruising double headers against Oxford a fortnight ago saw the Lion Cubs restricted to one league point after a series of misfortunes in the home meeting.
Ben Trigger returns to the side after missing those matches, but the No.1 position is taken by Cooper Rushen who has enjoyed an outstanding start to his WSRA National Development League.
Eli Meadows is also back from injury and lines up at reserve, whilst Sam McGurk comes in to guest for Sonny Springer who has retired from racing.
The Steelers, who are the combined Scunthorpe/Sheffield team, track a powerhouse top three featuring Luke Harrison, who is one of the best riders at this level, and Ben Morley who is guesting for the injured Nathan Ablitt and showed his form around Beaumont Park when he stood in for the Lion Cubs last time out.
Vinnie Foord makes his first return since the end of his three-year stint with the Lion Cubs, and the Steelers are captained by Mickie Simpson who also spent time with Leicester earlier in his career.
Lion Cubs manager Jen Crossland said: “It’s going to be a tough meeting, the Steelers have a strong team and we’ve already seen what Ben Morley can do around our track.
“But the boys will be determined to give it their all and hopefully we can enjoy a trouble-free day and get some more points on the board.”
Gates open at the Hydroscand Arena at 1.30pm and a reminder that season ticket holders can gain entry for just £6.
