LEICESTER Fox Cubs bring in two new faces for their National Development Trophy clash with Plymouth at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park on Sunday (3pm).
The Fox Cubs have signed Freddy Hodder and Jordy Loftus to replace retired duo Sonny Springer and Caydin Martin, and both riders make their debuts against the Centurions.
Hodder is an established heat-leader at this level and will provide strong back-up to captain Will Cairns, whilst youngster Loftus is gaining experience in his first UK season and was very impressive when he appeared at Leicester for Edinburgh in the NDL last week.
Manager Jen Crossland said: “We’re really pleased to bring the two riders in. Freddy was available with an average lower than Sonny and he wanted the extra meetings so that was a no-brainer really.
“I did give a bit of a clue away about Jordy last Sunday, but to say he had never seen the track before he rode amazingly, and we’re looking forward to them both being with us.
“We have two great sets of lads to work with, and Stewart (Dickson) supports me a lot. Seeing the young kids develop is what it’s all about.
“We have some really good meetings and starting at 3pm is good for the families. Against Plymouth we have some of our Lion Cubs against us so it’s going to be a tasty meeting!”
The Centurions are led by current Lions Rising Star Joe Thompson who races for Plymouth in the Championship, and they include three current Lion Cubs – Ben Trigger, Ryan Ingram and Eli Meadows, the latter coming in as a guest.
LEICESTER: Will Cairns, Mason Watson, Ace Pijper, Stene Pijper, Freddy Hodder, Max Broadhurst, Jordy Loftus.
