EDINBURGH v LION CUBS, PREVIEW

LEICESTER Lion Cubs are back in action on Friday when they travel to Edinburgh in the WSRA National Development League.

The Lion Cubs and the Monarchs Academy are the two teams who could still catch league leaders Oxford Chargers in the race for the title.

And it’s set to be a crucial night of racing as the meeting is a double header with Edinburgh first racing against Oxford (7pm), and then against Leicester.

The current league table shows Oxford on 16 points with two matches remaining whilst Leicester and Edinburgh both have 12 points with three matches to go.

There are a number of changes on both sides, with the Lion Cubs going into the meeting without Max Perry who has a commitment for his Championship club Glasgow, and rider replacement will operate.

Max James is still sidelined by injury and is replaced by Harry Fletcher, whilst Kieran Douglas races as an unattached guest for Calum Mitchell who is unavailable for family reasons.

Edinburgh have this week added former Lion Cubs rider Luke Crang to their line-up, and he will make his first appearance in place of the retired Matt Marson.

Elsewhere another ex-Lion Cub Vinnie Foord guests for the injured Sam McGurk, as he remains on his starting NDL average having remarkably only contested two fixtures all season for his regular side, the Steelers. A further Monarchs Academy change sees Luke Harris replace the retired Mark Parker at reserve.

The Lion Cubs have a 20-point advantage for the aggregate point having defeated Edinburgh 55-35 at home earlier in the season.

EDINBURGH: Dayle Wood, Luke Crang, Connor Coles, Jordy Loftus, Vinnie Foord, Luke Harris, Lee Harrison.
LEICESTER: Cooper Rushen, Ryan Ingram, Max Perry R/R, Harry Fletcher, Ben Trigger, Kieran Douglas, Eli Meadows.
