STEELERS v LION CUBS, PREVIEW

LEICESTER Lion Cubs race their final away fixture of the WSRA National Development season when they take on the Steelers at Sheffield on Wednesday (7.30pm).

With Oxford Chargers having already been crowned champions, the race is on for second place with the Lion Cubs three points behind Edinburgh with a match in hand.

They are likely to face a tough test at Owlerton against a Steelers side which has undergone various alterations during the season and now appears to be as strong as it gets in the NDL.

The home side track established NDL heat-leaders Luke Harrison and Ben Morley along with Vinnie Foord at No.2 who makes just his third appearance for the club, whilst the injured Mickie Simpson – who had piled up the points early in the season – is replaced by Jordy Loftus.

The Steelers also have a guest team manager with Jason Pipe standing in for Simon Lambert.

The Lion Cubs are still without Max James with hand and wrist injuries, so Harry Fletcher steps in once again, whilst Dylan Huthwaite comes in at reserve as Calum Mitchell has a family wedding.

Dates are to be confirmed for the final NDL/NDT matches at the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park against Belle Vue and Kent respectively.

STEELERS: Luke Harrison, Vinnie Foord, Jamie Etherington, Ben Morley, Jordy Loftus, Luke Harris, Sam Woods.

LEICESTER: Cooper Rushen, Ryan Ingram, Max Perry, Harry Fletcher, Ben Trigger, Dylan Huthwaite, Eli Meadows.
