LEICESTER are delighted to confirm 15-year-old Seth Norman will step up from club mascot into their National Development League team this season.
Norman has been a familiar face around the Hydroscand Arena, Beaumont Park in recent years with his pre-meeting laps ahead of Premiership fixtures.
He has also been making excellent progress in the British Youth Championship series, and he graduated from 250cc to 500cc machinery last year in addition to gaining further experience in international FIM events at youth level.
He turned 15 in mid-October enabling him to sample NDL level racing for the first time, including in the season ending double-header at Leicester.
And he showed in that meeting that he is more than ready for this level, with scores of 9 and 9+2 against Belle Vue and Kent respectively putting him very much in the frame for the 2026 season.
Lion Cubs manager Jen Crosland said: “I think everyone has enjoyed watching Seth progress over the last few years during his laps as mascot and also in the British Youth Championship.
“It was a special moment when we were able to bring him into the team for the final meeting of last season, and he did the club and himself proud.
“We have a great history of bringing talented youngsters into the Lion Cubs team, and I’m sure Seth will take his opportunity with both hands.”
Norman completes another youthful Lion Cubs team with the main experience being provided by new skipper Ben Morley and the returning Tom Spencer.
Leicester can also confirm they will continue to stage NDL meetings on Sunday afternoons at the Hydroscand Arena this season.
Fixtures are being discussed with the other clubs in the league, with the final list also dependent upon the Premiership schedule which should be available in the near future.
In addition to league racing, there is the possibility of an NDL challenge fixture and the club are also staging the British Under-21 semi-final with a date to be confirmed.
