LEICESTER will welcome back former favourite Vinnie Foord for Sunday’s WSRA NDL clash with King’s Lynn at the Hydroscand Arena (5pm).
Foord, who was a popular member of the Lion Cubs team in 2022-24 and was a league title winner with the club on two occasions, steps in as a guest at No.1 for Freddy Hodder who is unfortunately sidelined with a broken leg.
The Lion Cubs also bring in Emerson Betty at reserve for a second appearance as Tom Spencer is still ruled out, with rider replacement again in operation for the unavailable Max Perry.
If the Lion Cubs avoid defeat on the day they will mathematically secure runners-up place in the NDL table ahead of next Saturday’s finale against unbeaten champions Edinburgh.
King’s Lynn track a powerful heat leader trio featuring skipper Simon Lambert, Jake Mulford and former Lions rider Dan Gilkes who is on the comeback trail after injury.
The clashes between youngsters Seth Norman for the Lion Cubs and Ollie Binns for the Young Stars should be fascinating, whilst Archie Strong is a guest rider at reserve for the visitors.
The reverse fixture at the Adrian Flux Arena ended 45-45 so three league points are available for the winners on the day.
Lion Cubs manager Jen Crossland said: “We’re expecting a tough test against a King’s Lynn side who are very strong at the top.
“But again we’ll be telling the riders to go out and enjoy it with no pressure, and they showed what they could do at Buxton last week which was a fantastic result.
“This is all about development, all about the future of the sport and it’s so important that we give the riders these opportunities.”
Supporters are reminded of the 5pm start, a couple of hours later than our normal NDL time, and Lions season ticket holders can gain admission for the reduced price of £7.
